Andy Garcia makes his directorial debut with this political drama set in 1950s Cuba. A wealthy Havana family is caught in the violent transition from the oppressive regime of Batista to the Marxist government of Fidel Castro. One of the sons, Fico (Garcia), owner of popular Havana nightclub El Tropico, is forced to flee to New York as Castro's regime takes hold. Dustin Hoffman and Bill Murray both appear in cameo roles.
