A hard-working executive (Jeff Daniels) is horrified when his best friend collapses mid-joke and dies of a heart attack. Convinced he's next, he rushes from doctor to doctor and fills his house with oxygen tents and pulse monitors, all the while plagued by visions of the grave and the afterlife. Melanie Mayron is his long-suffering wife in this episodic black comedy, directed by David Leland.
