One of the country's top long distance casters and instructors, Phil Hyde, joins two carp anglers at Horseshoe Lake, Lechlade, to show how easy it is for them to add an extra 30 metres or so to their casts. Phil discusses all the important parts of tackle, rods, reels, shock leaders, line, bait clips, tapered knots and leads. He then goes on to show casting positions and the techniques of overhead casts and pendulum casts. By showing how to swing the lead and keep it going he proves that any carp angler can dramatically improve his casting distance, not by brute force, but by effortless technique.
