Triple-bill of Tom Cruise dramas. In 'Jerry Maguire' (1996), top sports manager Jerry Maguire (Cruise) is fired when he suggests to his employers SMI that they concentrate on caring more for fewer clients. He starts up his own company, with only two clients - one of whom double-crosses him by returning to SMI. However, Jerry still has American football player Ron Tidwell (an Oscar-winning Cuba Gooding Jr), plus the unlikely support of fellow former SMI employee Dorothy Boyd (Renee Zellweger), a single mother who Jerry begins dating. In 'Rain Man' (1988), self-centred car exporter Charlie Babbitt (Cruise) attends his estranged father's funeral to collect his inheritance. To his surprise, he discovers the money is going to Raymond (Dustin Hoffman), the autistic brother he never knew he had. Charlie 'kidnaps' Raymond in an effort to claim some of his inheritance but, as he grows closer to his brother, he realises there may be more to life than money. Finally, in 'A Few Good Men' (1992), Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee (Cruise) is a Navy lawyer assigned to defend two men who accidentally killed a Private by asphyxiating him with a towel. Initially working out a quick and easy plea bargain with the prosecuting lawyer (Kevin Bacon), Kaffee is persuaded to investigate the case further by a determined colleague (Demi Moore). Together they take on the might of the army establishment, as the trail of evidence leads to the accused's commanding officer (Jack Nicholson).
