Triple bill of canine adventures. In 'Firehouse Dog' (2007), Rex is Hollywood's top-grossing dog. He is known for his extreme athletic abilities and diva-like demeanour. His perks package, rivalling that of any A-list celebrity, includes Kobe beef, a poodle harem, and a diamond collar. Unfortunately an accident that occurs while Rex is shooting a commercial leads his handlers to presume he's dead. But Rex is merely lost - alone, filthy and unrecognisable in an unfamiliar city. Chased by animal control, he takes refuge in a grubby firehouse where he befriends a young boy called Shane (Josh Hutcherson). Together, the new friends set about restoring the station to its past glory. In 'Because of Winn Dixie' (2005), a ten-year-old girl (AnnaSophia Robb), abandoned by her mother when she was three, moves to a small town in Florida with her father (Jeff Daniels), a preacher. While there, she adopts a stray dog whom she names after the local supermarket where he was found. With her goofy pooch by her side, she meets an eclectic group of townspeople and rekindles an almost lost relationship with her father. Finally, in 'Good Boy!' (2003), thousands of years ago dogs were sent to Earth to spy on the human race in preparation for a full-scale invasion and takeover. However they have all forgotten their mission and Canid 3942 (voiced by Matthew Broderick) is sent from the planet Sirius to investigate. Canid meets Owen Baker (Liam Aitken), a young boy who provides a dog-walking service. Owen renames Canid as Hubble and the two become friends. Hubble asks Owen to help him get the dogs on Earth into shape before the Great Dane arrives to inspect them - because if they fail the inspection they will all have to leave Earth.
